MANILA – Malacañang on Thursday dismissed as “wild imagination” the insinuations that the Marcos administration is plotting to jail Vice President Sara Duterte and her allies ahead of the 2028 presidential elections.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said Duterte and her political allies, including Senator Imee Marcos, have nothing to fear because no such plan exists.
“They are just creations of fertile and wild imagination,” Castro said.
Duterte earlier claimed the Marcos administration seems to be “orchestrating something behind the scenes,” while the public remains focused on the ongoing investigation into questionable flood control projects.
Senator Imee Marcos, for her part, alleged that a new strategy was adopted to “get rid” of Duterte before 2028. She cited Justice Secretary Crispin Remulla’s reported bid for the Ombudsman post as part of what she described as “Plan C,” following unsuccessful attempts to unseat the Vice President through a people’s initiative on Charter change and impeachment.
On Wednesday, Castro told the presidential sister to “recalibrate her crystal ball” so she picks up stories with evidence, not just rumors. (PNA)
