MANILA – The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) has cautioned the public against fake official receipts (ORs) being used in transactions involving banks under liquidation.

According to PDIC, the falsified receipts carry its old logo, contain spelling errors, and bear forged signatures of PDIC personnel, making them inconsistent with the standard format of legitimate PDIC-issued ORs. The agency stressed that it officially changed its logo on June 22, 2018.

The corporation reminded the public to conduct transactions only with PDIC-authorized personnel at its head office in Makati City and to verify the authenticity of all PDIC-related documents.

Suspicious documents may be reported through the PDIC Public Assistance Department via email at pad@pdic.gov.ph, hotlines (02) 8841-4141 for Metro Manila or 1-800-1-888-7342 for calls outside Metro Manila, or through PDIC’s official Facebook and X accounts. Walk-in clients may also visit the PDIC office directly.

PDIC assured depositors of its continued commitment to protect their interests not only through deposit insurance but also by ensuring transparency in its operations.
