MANILA – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) extended medical aid to a fisherman who was injured while conducting fishing activities off Bajo de Masinloc.

The 32-year-old fisherman from Subic, Zambales, lost his balance after being hit by strong waves and sustained an injury to his right leg. He later approached BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301), which was patrolling the area, to request assistance.

Personnel from the Coast Guard Medical Service and Coast Guard Nursing Service onboard the vessel attended to his swollen leg before he was allowed to return to his banca and continue fishing.
