MANILA — At least 28 passengers, along with one vessel and four motorbancas, were stranded in Southern Tagalog early Monday as Super Typhoon Nando disrupted sea travel, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported.
From 12 midnight to 4 a.m. on September 22, the PCG monitored six affected ports in Southern Tagalog and Northeastern Luzon.
In Southern Tagalog, stranded were 28 passengers, drivers, and helpers, along with one vessel and four motorbancas at the ports of Real, Isla Verde, Bauan, and Balayan. Eight other vessels were reported taking shelter.
Meanwhile, in Northeastern Luzon, two vessels and five motorbancas took shelter at the PPA-Casiguran and Mahatao Shelter Port.
The PCG said it continues to monitor maritime activities as strong winds and rough seas are expected to persist due to Super Typhoon Nando.
