MANILA — The National Bureau of Investigation–Fraud and Financial Crimes Division (NBI-FFCD) has confiscated over P170 million worth of counterfeit products in separate operations in Manila.

On September 17, 2025, the NBI-FFCD served search warrants in 15 stalls in Binondo and one stall in San Nicolas for alleged violation of Section 155 (Trademark Infringement) in relation to Section 170 of Republic Act 8293 or the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.

The operations stemmed from a complaint filed on behalf of NEW ERA and ‘47 against the 16 stalls, seeking to stop the proliferation of counterfeit items carrying their trademarks.

Authorities seized 33,744 assorted products bearing the NEW ERA brand and 15,103 assorted products carrying the ‘47 trademark, with a combined estimated value of P170,309,900.

Director Judge Jaime B. Santiago (Ret.) commended the NBI-FFCD for the successful implementation of the warrants and assured the public that the Bureau will continue to pursue intellectual property rights violators.

He stressed that the NBI remains committed to protecting the rights of trademark owners against counterfeiting.
