MANILA – Malacañang has ordered government agencies to implement the 2024 National Disaster Response Plan (NDRP) as the country braces for the typhoon season.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, through Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 100 signed on September 23, directed the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), through the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), to spearhead the rollout of the plan.

“It is imperative for all national government agencies and instrumentalities, including government-owned or -controlled corporations, and LGUs to support and cooperate towards the successful implementation of the 2024 NDRP,” MC 100 read.

The circular also called for close coordination between the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) and the OCD to ensure the plan is properly disseminated across all agencies and local government units.

The NDRRMC earlier recommended the adoption of the 2024 NDRP, which outlines comprehensive strategies for disaster risk reduction and management, including immediate relief operations, early recovery efforts, and measures to minimize the impact of natural calamities.
