MANILA – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Tuesday opened the price bids for Contract Package 1 (CP1) of the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge (BCIB) Project, with proceedings livestreamed to the public in line with the administration’s transparency drive.

The bid submission and technical bids opening were conducted last May 20 at the DPWH Central Office.

CP1, with an Approved Agency Estimate of ₱7.25 billion, covers the construction of the Bataan Land Approach. Major structures in the package include the trumpet interchange connecting BCIB to Roman Highway, the Roman Interchange Bridge, Alas-Asin Main Bridge, Alas-Asin Overpass Bridge, Mt. View Overpass Bridge, Mt. View Waterway Bridge, and the Bataan Land Viaduct.

The 32.15-kilometer BCIB, financed through World Bank Loan No. 4432-PHI and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Loan No. L0724A, is expected to become the country’s longest water-spanning bridge and aims to significantly cut travel time between Bataan and Cavite.

DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said the bidders for CP1 include Beijing Urban Construction Group Co. Ltd., D.M. Consunji Inc., China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd., Sino Road and Bridge Group Co. Ltd., EEI–PMI Joint Venture, POSCO E&C–Sta. Clara Joint Venture, and a consortium of China Wu Yi Co. Ltd. and Fujian Road & Bridge Construction Group Co. Ltd., as well as the joint venture of Hunan Road & Bridge Construction Group Ltd. and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation.
