MANILA – The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), through its Legazpi Branch, has been servicing the cash requirements of banks operating in Masbate and coordinating with financial institutions to sustain the availability of banking services in the province following Typhoon Opong.

The BSP has informed banks that it can accommodate emergency withdrawals if needed. While some banks have yet to resume operations, alternative financial service channels remain available to the public, including cash-out services offered by money service businesses.

“These actions support communities hit by Typhoon Opong and keep essential financial transactions flowing during recovery,” the BSP said. The central bank added that it will continue to closely monitor the situation to meet the cash and banking needs of the people.
