MANILA – The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has taken custody of 13 luxury vehicles linked to the Discaya family following violations of customs laws, as part of intensified efforts to combat smuggling and safeguard government revenues.

The vehicles were issued a Warrant of Seizure and Detention (WSD) after BOC investigators established probable cause and confirmed irregularities in their importation and documentation. The move aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to fight smuggling and corruption.

These vehicles were among 30 seized earlier in September during a search operation at the premises of St. Gerrard Construction General Contractor & Development Corp. in Pasig City, owned by the Discaya family. Verification by the BOC’s Management Information Systems and Technology Group revealed that seven of the 13 vehicles—including a Toyota Tundra, Rolls-Royce Cullinan, and Bentley Bentayga—either lacked import entries or had fraudulent Certificates of Payment (CPs). The remaining six had import entries but also lacked or had fraudulent CPs.

The other vehicles seized remain under audit by the Post-Clearance Audit Group (PCAG).

Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno emphasized that the seizure is only the first step, signaling further forfeiture proceedings under the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA). “Our job at the BOC never stops with just seizures. We want the public to know that we are serious about the responsibilities entrusted to us… in pursuing actions that will help resolve longstanding anomalies,” Nepomuceno said.

The seizure is also linked to ongoing Senate Blue Ribbon Committee investigations into alleged anomalous flood control projects involving the Discaya family.
