MANILA – Motorists and consumers can expect higher fuel costs this week as major oil firms adjust prices.
Seaoil announced that starting 6 a.m. Tuesday, the prices of its gasoline and kerosene will rise by PHP0.20 per liter, while diesel will increase by PHP0.80 per liter.
Caltex confirmed it will implement the same price adjustments, effective 6:01 a.m. Tuesday.
The adjustments come amid geopolitical tensions overseas and strong local demand, factors that have already pushed global oil prices higher. Last week, Jetti Petroleum president Leo Bellas projected diesel prices to rise between PHP0.60 and PHP0.80 per liter and gasoline between PHP0.10 and PHP0.30 per liter.
Consumers are advised to plan accordingly as fuel costs continue to adjust in line with market conditions.
