MANILA – The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has expressed full support for the Independent Commission for Infrastructure’s (ICI) ongoing probe into alleged anomalous flood-control projects and related matters, including the case involving the Discaya family.
In a meeting requested by Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, the BOC turned over documents relevant to the Commission’s investigation, underscoring the agency’s efforts to promote transparency and accountability in its enforcement and administrative operations.
The submitted documents include reports on enforcement actions, copies of Search Warrants and Warrants of Seizure and Detention (WSD), lists of importation documents, and progress reports linked to the inquiries.
“The BOC fully supports the Commission’s efforts to establish the facts in all pending inquiries. This initiative reflects our continuing commitment to transparency and cooperation with oversight bodies,” Commissioner Nepomuceno said.
He also instructed all concerned offices within the Bureau to extend full cooperation to the ICI and other investigative bodies to ensure a fair, comprehensive, and evidence-based review process.
“Under the guidance of President Marcos Jr., the Bureau continues to uphold integrity and good governance through strengthened inter-agency coordination efforts that promote transparency and public trust,” he added.
The BOC reaffirmed its commitment to accountability and cooperation with all government initiatives aimed at reinforcing institutional integrity and ensuring that lawful procedures are consistently observed.
