
MANILA—The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has deployed assessment teams to inspect the collapsed section of the Bukidnon-Davao City (BuDa) Road in Palacapao, Quezon, following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure mobility and connectivity between Bukidnon and Davao provinces.
Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon ordered the immediate temporary closure of the affected portion of the road while the assessment and investigation are ongoing. “The Department shall provide a recommendation based on the results of the investigation,” the DPWH said in a statement.
Motorists are advised to avoid the Bukidnon-Davao City Road and take alternate routes, including the Cagayan de Oro City–Tagum City route via Junction Sayre Highway, Valencia City, Bukidnon, through Kapalong-Talaingod-Valencia Road, and the Camp 1 Maramag, Bukidnon–Davao City route via Junction Bukidnon-Davao City Road to Cotabato Boundary, passing through Carmen-Kabacan-Matalam-Kidapawan, Cotabato-Digos City, Davao.
The DPWH said it will continue to update the public on the progress of repair and rehabilitation works along the Bukidnon-Davao City Road.
