MANILA — The Department of Health (DOH) reported a decline in influenza-like illness (ILI) cases in the first two weeks of October, noting that there is no outbreak or need for lockdowns.
From September 28 to October 11, 2025, the DOH recorded 6,457 ILI cases, marking a 39% decrease compared to the 10,740 cases reported between September 14 and 27. The number is also 25% lower than the 8,628 cases recorded during the same period in 2024.
Health Secretary Ted Herbosa earlier clarified that the situation remains under control, stressing that “there is no outbreak.”
The DOH continues to remind the public to maintain proper hygiene and healthy habits to prevent infection:
— Wash hands regularly with clean water and soap
— Cover the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing
— Get enough sleep, eat well, and stay hydrated
For those experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, or body pain:
— Stay home to prevent spreading the illness
— Take medication such as paracetamol for fever relief
— Seek medical advice from the nearest health center or hospital
