MANILA – The Starbucks Foundation and Starbucks Philippines have extended assistance to communities affected by the 6.9-magnitude earthquake that struck Northern Cebu on September 30.
In partnership with Planet Water Foundation, the coffee company has deployed AquaBlock and AquaTower emergency water filtration systems to provide clean and safe drinking water to residents in the hardest-hit areas, including Antipolo, Medellin, and Poblacion, San Remigio.
“These systems are a vital lifeline for communities where infrastructure has been severely damaged and access to water disrupted,” the company said.
Starbucks expressed gratitude to first responders, medical teams, volunteers, and local government units for their tireless efforts to save lives and deliver aid.
“We stand in solidarity with the people of Cebu,” the statement read, adding that the company remains committed to supporting recovery efforts and restoring hope in affected communities.
