MANILA – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced it is open to requests from the public to hold satellite voters’ registration in their areas for the upcoming November 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).

Under Resolution No. 11177, the Comelec said any interested party may request the conduct of satellite registration, aside from the mandatory list-up activities, subject to approval by poll officials.

“Any interested party may request for the conduct of satellite registration, in addition to the mandatory establishment of satellite registration, subject to the approval of the (poll) officials,” the resolution stated.

Requests will undergo assessment and evaluation by the Election Officers before recommendations are made to the Provincial Election Supervisor for final approval by the Comelec en banc.

The resolution provides that proposed satellite registration sites must have at least 200 prospective applicants, while those in far-flung areas should have no fewer than 50 applicants.

Once approved, registration activities may be held in public or private buildings, provided these are not owned, leased, or occupied as residences by any incumbent national, city, municipal, or barangay official—or any of their relatives within the fourth civil degree of consanguinity or affinity.

The Comelec also clarified that such activities should be conducted at no additional cost to the Commission.

During the registration period, all Offices of the Election Officer (OEOs) are required to hold satellite registration in every barangay within their jurisdiction. Allowed venues include barangay halls, schools, malls, commercial establishments, and other accessible public areas.

The ongoing voters’ registration for the 2026 BSKE resumed on Oct. 20, 2025, and will run until May 18, 2026.
