MANILA – The Manila Police District (MPD) announced a series of road closures and alternate routes in Manila from 10 p.m. of October 30 until 7 p.m. of November 3 in preparation for the observance of Undas next weekend.

The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic during the period:

  • Stretch of Blumentritt Street from A. Bonifacio to Aurora Boulevard
  • Stretch of Dimasalang from Retiro Street to Calavite Street
  • Stretch of Maceda from Makiling Street to Dimasalang Street
  • Southbound lane of Dimasalang Bridge
  • Aurora Boulevard from Felix Huertas Road to Matandang Sora (Chinese Cemetery South Gate)

Motorists are advised to take the following alternate routes:

  • Vehicles from Dimasalang Road heading to Blumentritt Road should turn right to Makiling Street.
  • Vehicles from Quezon City taking A. Bonifacio Avenue should turn left to Labo Street.
  • Vehicles from Maceda Street going to Dimasalang or Retiro should turn right to Makiling Street.

The MPD also announced designated parking areas near the Manila North Cemetery, including:

  • P. Guevarra Street from Blumentritt Road to Aurora Boulevard
  • Felix Huertas Street from Blumentritt Road to Aurora Boulevard
  • Oroquieta Street from Blumentritt Road to Aurora Boulevard

Meanwhile, the Manila local government said the Manila North Cemetery will be open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. from October 29 to November 2, before resuming normal operations thereafter.

Authorities reminded the public that guns, sharp objects, alcoholic beverages, pets, musical instruments, sound systems, and flammable liquids are strictly prohibited inside the cemetery.
