MANILA — The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) reminded the public to remain vigilant against individuals or organizations misusing the BSP’s name, logo, or the names of its personnel.

The central bank issued the reminder following a May 5, 2025 advisory against an entity using the name “UNA Financing Corporation,” which allegedly used the BSP’s logo and names of BSP personnel without authorization.

The legitimate UNA Financing Corporation, registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has clarified through its own advisories that it is not connected with the fraudulent use of its corporate name.

In a meeting, the BSP and the SEC-registered UNA agreed to strengthen collaboration to protect the public from scams and fraudulent activities.

The BSP referred the matter to the SEC for verification and investigation in June 2025 and said it will continue to coordinate with the SEC and other authorities as needed.

The BSP reiterated that it does not solicit money, request personal or financial information, or offer investment opportunities or loans to the public in the performance of its official functions.
