MANILA – The Supreme Court (SC) En Banc has directed the Office of the Court Administrator (OCA) to monitor the filing of corruption cases involving infrastructure projects before the Regional Trial Courts (RTCs).
Under A.M. No. 25-10-24-SC, titled Re: Proposals for the Court En Banc in Relation to Anomalous Flood Control and Infrastructure Projects, the SC said that once such cases are filed, it will designate special courts to exclusively hear and decide corruption-related cases arising from infrastructure projects.
The directive forms part of the Court’s ongoing reform initiatives under the Strategic Plan for Judicial Innovations (SPJI), which includes the development of eCourt PH and other digitalization programs aimed at improving efficiency, transparency, and accountability across all levels of the Judiciary.
These reforms cover the trial courts, the Court of Appeals, the Sandiganbayan, the Court of Tax Appeals, and the Supreme Court.
Through the SPJI, the SC aims to address persistent issues of delay and case backlog by institutionalizing efficient systems, adopting innovative solutions, and expanding access to justice for all.
