BUSAN, South Korea — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. concluded his participation in the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in South Korea, touting strengthened regional cooperation, expanded strategic investments, and key economic gains for the Philippines.

Marcos, joined by First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos and the Philippine delegation, arrived at the Gimhae Air Base in Busan on Thursday afternoon, where they were accorded arrival honors. He immediately proceeded to a Filipino Community gathering at the Wyndham Grand Busan, where overseas Filipinos welcomed the President and First Lady in a festive program filled with music and camaraderie.

On Friday, the President began his formal APEC engagements at the Hwabaek International Convention Center (HICO) in Gyeongju. He was received by the Chair of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM) before joining the morning session themed “Towards a More Connected, Resilient Region and Beyond.”

Marcos later attended a working lunch with the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), followed by his special remarks at the APEC CEO Summit, where he underscored the Philippines’ commitment to inclusive growth and regional connectivity.

In the afternoon, the President held a bilateral meeting with the Republic of Korea, reaffirming Manila and Seoul’s growing partnership in trade, defense, and infrastructure. He capped the day by joining fellow leaders at the APEC Economic Leaders’ Gala Dinner at Lahan Select Gyeongju.

On the final day of the summit, Marcos participated in Session 2 of the AELM on “Preparing a Future-Ready Asia-Pacific” and took part in the official group photo with other economic leaders, marking the close of the APEC 2025 meetings.

Following the summit, the President traveled back to Busan for a series of business meetings at the Signiel Hotel, where he emphasized the country’s drive to attract strategic investments that generate employment opportunities for Filipinos.

Before returning to Manila, Marcos held a Kapihan with the Malacañang Press Corps, sharing the Philippines’ key takeaways and reaffirming his administration’s goal of positioning the nation as a reliable partner in regional economic recovery and growth.
