MANILA — The office of Senator Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada clarified on Monday that the San Juan Regional Trial Court recently denied only his request for a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO).
The senator’s application for a Writ of Preliminary Injunction remains pending and is scheduled for hearing on November 12, 2025, where both parties will present arguments and evidence.
The court’s resolution also reminded the public that any statements or discussions about the case are subject to the sub judice rule. The ruling specifically prohibits comments—whether through traditional media or digital platforms—that could influence the court, prejudice the issues, or obstruct the administration of justice.
Senator Estrada emphasized that he respects the judicial proscription and reaffirmed his belief that the courtroom, not the media, is the proper forum to vindicate rights.
The senator also stated that he will pursue all legal remedies against those who violate his rights, spread false information, or attempt to harm his reputation, and expressed confidence that truth will prevail through due process and impartial justice.
