MANILA — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) announced that it is enforcing an automatic price freeze on all basic necessities following President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s approval of a state of national calamity.

The price freeze will remain in effect for 60 days or until lifted by the President. As chair of the National Price Coordinating Council (NPCC), the DTI said it has coordinated with all key implementing agencies to protect consumers during this period.

The agency is working closely with manufacturers, retailers, and distributors to ensure a sufficient and steady supply of basic necessities and prime commodities. DTI Regional and Provincial Offices have been placed on heightened alert to enforce compliance with the price freeze and maintain adequate nationwide supply.
