MANILA — The Regional Director of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 3 has been asked to explain an incident involving an unmarked vehicle convoy spotted alongside an LTO patrol car on the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX).

Under the directive of LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao, a Show Cause Order was immediately issued to Regional Director Ronnie S. Montejo following the circulation of a viral video on social media showing the convoy. The video raised public speculation and concern about the possible unauthorized use of LTO vehicles.

“We are committed to transparency and accountability. Kailangan nating malaman kung ano ang nangyari at kung bakit nagkaroon ng ganitong sitwasyon,” Lacanilao said, emphasizing the agency’s seriousness in addressing the matter.

Through the Show Cause Order, RD Montejo is expected to provide an explanation as soon as possible. The move aims to determine whether there was a violation of LTO regulations and policies.

“We assure the public that we are taking this matter seriously. Hindi natin kukunsintihin ang anumang uri ng paglabag sa ating mga patakaran,” Lacanilao added, assuring that the agency will take all necessary steps to maintain integrity and prevent any doubts about its operations.
