BURGOS, ILOCOS NORTE — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) recovered alleged rocket debris bearing Chinese markings along the coastline of Barangay Saoit, Burgos, on Sunday, November 9, 2025.

Personnel from the Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Burgos were conducting mobile and foot patrols as part of their “Paalala sa Mangingisda sa Panahon ng Bagyo” information drive ahead of Super Typhoon #UwanPH when they spotted suspicious debris believed to be rocket parts that had drifted ashore.

By 9:30 a.m., CGSS Burgos coordinated with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) to ensure the safe recovery and handling of the material.

Coast Guard personnel also issued safety advisories to local fishermen and nearby residents, urging them to keep a safe distance from the debris while authorities conduct assessment and validation.
