
MANILA—The Commission on Elections (Comelec) reported on Tuesday that nearly 500,000 applications have been received so far in connection with the November 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
From October 20 to November 16, Comelec has processed 484,334 applications, including new voter registration, transfer of registration from other cities or municipalities, and other related applications.
Calabarzon recorded the highest number of processed applications at 103,752, followed by the National Capital Region with 63,030; Central Luzon, 54,080; Central Visayas, 28,047; and Caraga, 26,585. The Cordillera region logged the lowest at 6,478.
The data covers both village (regular) voters and youth voters aged 15 to 17 applying for SK membership, as well as other applications such as transfer of registration, reactivation, correction of entries, change of name, and inclusion of records in the Book of Voters.
Voter registration activities will continue for seven months until May 18, 2026. Comelec aims to register around 1.4 million new voters.
Currently, the Philippines has over 92.7 million registered voters, including more than 23.4 million youth voters. (PNA)
