MANILA — The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that three of the five cases under preliminary investigation involving alleged anomalous flood control projects in Bulacan have been submitted for resolution, where a panel of prosecutors will determine whether to proceed to court or hold the cases pending additional evidence.

The cases concern alleged irregularities in projects undertaken by SYMS Construction and Trading.

“Three out of five cases are now submitted for resolution. The remaining two are scheduled for another hearing on December 5, 2025, pending the submission of counter-affidavits by additional respondents,” DOJ spokesperson Polo Martinez said.

He added that the latest hearing involved the receipt of counter-affidavits from respondents who filed motions on November 24 requesting extensions to submit their responses.

The DOJ noted that the prosecution is progressing steadily, following directives from Malacañang to thoroughly investigate all aspects of the alleged flood control anomalies. (PNA)
