MANILA — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is closely monitoring the situation of Filipinos in Sri Lanka following heavy rainfall and landslides caused by Cyclone Ditwah.

Through the Philippine Embassy in Bangladesh, in coordination with the Honorary Consulate General in Sri Lanka, the DFA reported that as of November 30, 2025, one Filipino in Negombo city has been displaced by flooding. The individual is receiving medical attention at a local hospital and is being assisted by the Honorary Consulate General.

The Embassy said it continues to coordinate with Sri Lankan authorities and stands ready to provide assistance to any Filipino affected by the calamity.

According to the DFA, there are currently 711 Filipinos residing in Sri Lanka.
