MANILA — The Bureau of Customs at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and other partner agencies, seized high-grade marijuana, or “Kush,” valued at an estimated P14.9 million at NAIA Terminal 3.
The interdiction took place on November 28, 2025, when authorities intercepted a luggage containing 18 vacuum-sealed transparent pouches with around 9,940 grams of dried leaves suspected to be Kush.
District Collector of NAIA, Atty. Yasmin O. Mapa, said, “We will remain steadfast and sustain our dedication in upholding our duty to secure the safety of the country’s borders.”
BOC Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno added, “Those who seek to misuse our borders for illegal activities will be met with decisive action. Our duty stands clear, and that is to protect our people from the dangers of illegal drugs.”
The operation underscores intensified inter-agency cooperation under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration and reflects the BOC’s continuing vigilance in safeguarding the nation’s borders.
