MANILA—Malacañang on Wednesday assured the public that government efforts to investigate flood control corruption remain in full force, with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. directing officials to stay focused on “results, not drama” despite ongoing political tensions.

Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Dave Gomez said the Palace continues to operate in a steady, professional environment, with agencies working together to identify those accountable, recover public funds, and implement long-term structural reforms.

“The mood in the Palace is still very much steady and focused. Work has not stopped, not a single day here,” Gomez said in an interview with ANC.

“I know there’s a lot of political noise going on out there, but the President is very clear. We’re dealing with a very serious problem here of flood control and the accompanying scandal that surrounds it,” he added.

“The atmosphere in the Palace is professional. People are working, agencies are coordinating, and the President is clear. He wants results, not drama,” Gomez stressed.

Gomez said the administration remains focused on accountability and systemic fixes amid political developments surrounding the issue.

“Our job is to bring to justice those who are responsible, recover the stolen wealth, and fix the system,” he said.

Marcos exposed irregularities in flood control and infrastructure projects during his Fourth State of the Nation Address on July 28, 2025, where he delivered the now widely quoted line, “Mahiya naman kayo.”

Following this, the President launched the “Sumbong sa Pangulo” platform to gather public complaints and later created the Independent Commission for Infrastructure, which recommended charges against several individuals linked to the anomalies. The Office of the Ombudsman has since filed cases against several personalities before the Sandiganbayan.

Earlier, Gomez said the President remains undeterred by the political noise surrounding the probe.

“He’s not blinking and he will see this through. He will finish this. At sabi nga ng ating Pangulo, sinimulan ko ito, tatapusin ko ito,” he said.
