MANILA — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has revoked the driver’s license of a popular vlogger after a video showing him driving a Ford Expedition with a fake license plate and without wearing a seatbelt went viral on social media.

The video also captured the vlogger frequently looking at his phone camera while driving, which obstructed his view of the road and posed a potential hazard to other motorists.

LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao said the vlogger failed to attend the scheduled hearing of the LTO-Intelligence and Investigation Division (IID) to submit a verified comment explaining why he should not face charges for violations including Failure to Attach Authorized Motor Vehicle License Plate, Mandatory Use of Seatbelt, Distracted Driving, Reckless Driving, and Improper Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle.

“Because of his disregard for the previously issued Show Cause Order, the agency has revoked his driver’s license,” Lacanilao said. He added that the Ford Expedition will remain under LTO alert status until it completes the full roadworthiness inspection at the LTO Motor Vehicle Inspection Facility.

The LTO stressed its commitment to enforcing traffic laws and maintaining road safety, noting that no settlement or compromise will be entertained in such cases.
