MANILA — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) conducted raids on five stores in Manila and a warehouse in Balagtas, Bulacan, resulting in the seizure of more than 10,000 counterfeit products bearing the trademarks of Monster and Puma.
The operation, carried out on November 21 and 24, 2025, by the NBI’s Fraud and Financial Crimes Division (FFCD) with the Intellectual Property Rights Division (IPRD), stemmed from complaints by representatives of the two brands regarding the proliferation and distribution of fake merchandise.
Authorities confiscated 3,017 items bearing the Monster trademark and 7,324 items bearing the Puma trademark, with a total estimated value of PHP 28,671,700.
The seizures were executed under search warrants for violations of Section 115 (Trademark Infringement) in relation to Section 170 of Republic Act No. 8293, also known as the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.
The NBI reminded the public to avoid buying counterfeit products, warning that such goods may pose safety risks due to low-quality materials and chemicals. The bureau also stressed that purchasing fake products harms the country’s economic growth.
