ROMBLON — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) successfully conducted rescue and evacuation operations in Barangay Tampayan, Magdiwang, Romblon, following heavy rains from a Low-Pressure Area (LPA) and shear line on December 7, 2025.

Joint responders rescued families trapped and isolated by sudden flash floods in Sitio Agnonoc, Sitio Log Deck, and Sitio Ilawod. All rescued families were safely evacuated to the Magdiwang Evacuation Center in Barangay Poblacion.

As of reporting, a total of 23 families, or 121 individuals, were assisted during the operations.

The Coast Guard, together with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Magdiwang, the Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), continue to remind residents to stay vigilant, monitor weather advisories, and coordinate with local authorities during emergencies.
