MANILA — The Bureau of Customs – Enforcement Group (BOC-EG) formally launched the Customs Police Rapid Intervention Group Special Operations Training during the Reception Rites on 11 December 2025, signaling the start of four months of intensive and specialized training.

The program aims to strengthen the enforcement team’s ability to master advanced operational skills, enhancing their capacity to respond to complex threats while reinforcing border protection and safeguarding legitimate trade.

In his address, Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno emphasized the trainees’ mission, saying, “You will undergo rigorous physical and mental training, and upon completion, you will represent us. To all the batches, continue your efforts and strive for excellence, because our citizens must recognize that our work extends beyond the collection of taxes and trade facilitation. Your role in strengthening border control against illegal drugs and the exportation of prohibited items is equally vital, and we are counting on you to uphold this mission.”

Deputy Commissioner PBGen Nolasco K. Bathan (Ret.) and other key EG officials also welcomed the trainees, noting the program’s importance in equipping future customs operatives with essential competencies to enhance operational readiness and fortify border security.
