MANILA — Minimum wage earners and domestic helpers, or “kasambahay,” in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) will receive additional pay of PHP35 and PHP600, respectively, before the end of the month.

The increase follows the approval of Wage Order No. CAR-24 by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board – CAR, raising the minimum wage in the region from PHP470 to PHP505.

The hike covers all minimum wage earners in the private sector within the region, regardless of position, designation, or employment status, and irrespective of the method of wage payment.

Meanwhile, domestic workers will receive an additional PHP600 on top of their previous PHP6,000 monthly minimum wage. The adjustment applies to all domestic helpers, whether on a live-in or live-out arrangement, including general househelp, “yaya” or nanny, cook, gardener, laundry staff, and any person performing regular domestic work in a household.

The salary increases were approved in Baguio City on Dec. 2, 2025, but were only made public on Sunday, Dec. 14, and will take effect on Dec. 30, 2025. (PNA)
