MANILA — Malacañang expressed confidence that the 2026 national budget is legally sound and intended to benefit the Filipino people.

So, confident po ang Pangulo,” Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said during a Palace press briefing.

Castro made the statement amid reports that some individuals are planning to question before the Supreme Court the remaining unprogrammed appropriations in the 2026 General Appropriations Act, which President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. signed into law on Monday.

She said that while any individual has the right to file a case before the Supreme Court, the administration is ready to respond to petitions that may challenge the constitutionality of portions of the 2026 national budget.
