MANILA — Taylor Swift’s latest single, “The Fate of Ophelia,” has reached a new personal milestone by topping the Billboard Hot 100 for nine different weeks, surpassing her previous record with “Anti-Hero,” which held the chart’s number-one spot for eight consecutive weeks beginning in November 2022.
The lead single from Swift’s album The Life of a Showgirl initially reigned for its first eight weeks starting mid-October 2025 before being briefly displaced by holiday songs, including Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” which extended its record on the Hot 100 summit to a 22nd week alongside other seasonal favorites.
With the holidays over, “The Fate of Ophelia” surged from No. 29 back to the top, giving Swift her 13th Billboard No. 1 — tying her with Michael Jackson and Drake for the fourth-most chart-toppers, behind Rihanna (14), Mariah Carey (19), and The Beatles (20).
Other Swift songs to reach No. 1 include “Blank Space,” “Cruel Summer,” “Shake It Off,” “Look What You Made Me Do,” “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” “Fortnight,” “Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version) [From the Vault],” “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version),” “Willow,” “Cardigan,” and “Bad Blood.” Together, her 13 chart-toppers have spent 45 weeks at the summit, placing her eighth overall among artists with the most weeks at No. 1.
“The Fate of Ophelia” has also seen local success, debuting atop the Philippines Hot 100 the week of October 18, 2025. It initially displaced Cup of Joe’s “Multo” before alternating weeks at the top with another The Life of a Showgirl track, “Opalite.” The song has spent 12 weeks on the Philippine chart and currently sits at No. 8, with fitterkarma’s “Pag-Ibig ay Kanibalismo II” starting 2026 as the new No. 1.
The nine-week run on the Billboard Hot 100 underscores Swift’s continued dominance in global pop music, even amid strong competition from seasonal hits and long-running chart records held by songs such as Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” and Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road.”
