MANILA — Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan congratulated the nearly 5,000 passers of the 2025 Bar examinations, urging them to practice law with integrity and a strong commitment to public service and social justice.

In a statement, Pangilinan welcomed the new lawyers to the profession, stressing that the title “Atty.” carries responsibility, especially at a time when the country faces corruption and governance challenges.

“Sa panahong parang walang batas at nilulunod ang bansa sa kurakot, hindi lang flex ang pagiging ‘Atty.’ Tungkulin ito,” Pangilinan said.

He encouraged the new lawyers to serve in government, the courts, unions, and communities, and to choose public service even when it is difficult or lacks glamour.

“Practice with integrity, consistency, and a bias for truth and social justice. Be lawyers who ask who benefits, who gets left out, and who pays the price. Then act,” he said.

Pangilinan emphasized that passing the Bar is not an end but a beginning.

“The Bar is not a finish line. It is a gate to what you can do. Nag-uumpisa pa lang ang exciting part,” he added.

He also offered words of encouragement to those who did not pass the examination this year, reminding them that failing the Bar does not define their intelligence, perseverance, or calling.

“Failing the Bar is not a final judgment on your intelligence, grit, or calling. It’s simply one snapshot, not the whole story,” Pangilinan said, urging them to rest, regroup, and try again.

“The law, and the country, will still need you,” he added.
