MANILA — The Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) affirmed its commitment to strengthening transparency, maritime security, and regulatory compliance in reclamation activities in Manila Bay, as it pledged full cooperation with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and other government agencies.

In a statement, the PRA said it will work closely with the PCG in inspection and verification activities and will direct all reclamation partners and project proponents to use only duly registered and fully compliant vessels, including locally registered dredgers, in accordance with Philippine laws and regulations.

The authority said vessels engaging in unauthorized changes of registry, maintaining irregular or unclear registration status, or failing to meet vessel registration and Automatic Identification System (AIS) requirements will not be allowed to operate in any reclamation project under its jurisdiction.

To ensure enforcement, the PRA said it will coordinate with the PCG and relevant agencies to strengthen monitoring, inspection, and maritime enforcement mechanisms related to reclamation activities.

The PRA reiterated that all reclamation projects under its supervision must strictly comply with maritime laws, environmental regulations, and safety standards, adding that any violations identified will be addressed based on existing laws and regulatory processes.

The authority also emphasized its commitment to good governance, accountability, and environmental protection in all reclamation initiatives.
