MANILA — Actress Marian Rivera shut down rumors that her marriage to fellow actor Dingdong Dantes is in trouble following a viral blind item involving a high-profile celebrity couple.

The blind item, which circulated on social media earlier this week, claimed that a “power couple” was facing relationship issues due to one spouse’s alleged infidelity. Given the limited number of local celebrity couples, some speculated that the item referred to Marian and Dingdong.

Marian immediately dismissed the rumors when contacted by entertainment columnist Rose Garcia, who recounted the exchange on the January 8 episode of the online show Marites University.

“Ni-message ko si Yan. Sabi ko, ‘I’m sure aware ka sa blind item kung saan sa comments section kayong dalawa ni Dong ang binabanggit,’” Garcia said. (I messaged her and said, “I’m sure you’re aware of the blind item where the comments mention you and Dong.”)

Marian reportedly called Garcia, showing a photo of the couple smiling together during their son Sixto’s football practice. “‘Ate, jusme. Ano ba ‘yang mga blind item na ‘yan?’” Garcia quoted Marian, adding that the actress noted such rumors are common, especially every January.

Marian and Dingdong recently celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary on December 30 and are also parents to daughter Zia.
