MANILA — Newly-wed actress Carla Abellana humorously reflected on the short-lived seven-week duration of her first marriage while discussing her second wedding in interviews with television host Boy Abunda and journalist Jessica Soho.

Carla said her initial marriage to actor Tom Rodriguez in 2021 “did not even last two months,” joking that it should be a record easy to surpass.

“Napagtatawanan ko siya ngayon. Of course, ‘pag binabalikan painful pa rin siya, but at least, now I’m more able to comfortably talk [about it],” she told Soho.

Boy Abunda suggested that Carla should celebrate once her current marriage exceeds her first by even a day — a notion she found amusing.

Carla said she is looking forward to experiencing married life with her husband, Dr. Reginald Santos, a chief medical officer at a private hospital, from the honeymoon stage through the challenges of daily life.

Both Abunda and Soho praised Carla for remaining strong after the end of her first marriage, maintaining professionalism in her career, and giving love a second chance.

Carla and Santos, who first dated in high school two decades ago, tied the knot during an intimate ceremony in Tagaytay last December. She also joked about their wedding cake, which went viral for its unusual coffin-like appearance.
