MANILA — Detained Russian vlogger Vitaly Zdorovetskiy was deported to Russia on January 17, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) confirmed Sunday, ending his nine-month detention in the Philippines.
Zdorovetskiy departed aboard an IrAero flight bound for Irkutsk following his arrest in April 2024. The deportation came after he was declared an “undesirable alien” on December 17 and placed on the immigration blacklist, barring him from reentering the country.
During inquest proceedings at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City, immigration authorities said Zdorovetskiy admitted to acts of harassment. His request for bail during detention was denied.
Zdorovetskiy was initially arrested at a hotel in Pasay City on April 3 for alleged unjust vexation, alarm and scandal, and attempted theft. Authorities said he harassed Filipinos during livestreams, including a security guard and an elderly woman in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
He was also accused of stealing items such as an electric fan from a restaurant and a tricycle later abandoned on a road, posting fake online reviews of local businesses, and jumping onto a moving jeepney.
