MANILA — Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon said that evidence is strong and cases are well-founded against former Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co and other individuals involved in the allegedly anomalous flood control project in Oriental Mindoro.

Dizon made the remarks while testifying at the Sandiganbayan, stressing that those responsible for substandard or “ghost” flood control projects—including politicians, government officials, and private contractors—will be held accountable.

The Secretary assured that the review of the questionable flood control project followed proper procedures and underwent scrutiny by the Commission on Audit (COA).

Dizon also said he expects to frequently appear in anti-graft court hearings for similar cases involving flood control projects in Davao Occidental and Bulacan.
