MANILA – The 21 essential medicines covered under the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) will remain available this year at YAKAP-accredited primary care facilities nationwide, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) announced.
PhilHealth President and CEO Edwin Mercado said members can continue to access these medicines at their chosen YAKAP clinics while the agency works to further enhance benefits under the YAKAP and GAMOT programs.
“All Filipinos can be assured that they can continue to obtain these 21 medicines from their chosen YAKAP Clinic, as we further improve the benefits of PhilHealth YAKAP and GAMOT,” Mercado said.
The list of medicines includes Amoxicillin, Co-amoxiclav, Cotrimoxazole, Nitrofurantoin, Ciprofloxacin, Clarithromycin, Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS), Prednisone, Salbutamol, Fluticasone + Salmeterol, Paracetamol, Gliclazide, Metformin, Simvastatin, Enalapril, Metoprolol, Amlodipine, Hydrochlorothiazide, Losartan, Aspirin, and Chlorphenamine.
PhilHealth stressed that members should access the medicines through the clinics where they are empaneled to ensure timely treatment and continuity of care. Partner YAKAP providers were reminded to maintain adequate stocks and comply with service standards.
“We continue to exert efforts to further improve the delivery of our services through ongoing coordination with YAKAP providers so that Filipinos who rely on PhilHealth can continue to have peace of mind,” Mercado added.
