MANILA – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has scheduled the filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) for the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) from September 28 to October 5.

Under Comelec Resolution No. 11191, which sets the calendar of activities for the November 2 polls, the official election period will run from October 3 to November 9.

During this period, the carrying of firearms and other deadly weapons in public, the use of private security or bodyguards by candidates, the organization of reaction or strike forces, the suspension of elective officials, and the transfer or detail of civil service employees are prohibited.

The campaign period is set from October 22 to 31. Activities banned during the campaign include the removal or destruction of lawful campaign materials, the use of illegal campaign propaganda, and giving cash or in-kind donations to voters.

Comelec also said campaigning, the sale and consumption of liquor, and the giving or receiving of free transportation, food, drinks, or other items of value are prohibited on the eve of the elections, November 1.

Voting on election day will take place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., after which the counting, canvassing of votes, and proclamation of winning candidates will immediately follow.

The deadline for filing Statements of Contributions and Expenditures is December 2. The BSKE is scheduled on the first Monday of November 2026 under Republic Act 12232.
