MANILA – Malacañang assured that well-performing contractors involved in ongoing infrastructure projects will continue their work without interruption despite the possible blacklisting of firms linked to anomalous flood control projects.

Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. maintained that contractors who deliver quality work will continue to be paid, ensuring stability and confidence in government transactions.

Castro said that during a meeting with the economic team last Monday, President Marcos directed all government agencies to ensure the prompt payment of contractors who have performed well in their projects.

She also said the Department of Public Works and Highways reported that more than 60 contractors may face blacklisting due to their alleged involvement in fraudulent infrastructure projects.

Citing a report from the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board, Castro said the licenses of four contractors have already been revoked, while 16 others are undergoing processing for possible blacklisting.
