MANILA – Veteran actor Eddie Gutierrez addressed false reports claiming he had passed away.

In a video uploaded on his daughter Ruffa Gutierrez’s Facebook page, Eddie acknowledged that “fake news” is rampant and assured the public that he is “still alive and kicking.” He also shared that he continues to enjoy life following successful treatments in Singapore in recent weeks.

The actor, who will turn 84 on February 6, credited his longevity to his wife, Annabelle Rama, who appeared beside him in the video. He also thanked his children – Ruffa, Richard, Raymond, Elvis, Rocky, Ritchie Paul, Ramon “Monching,” and Tonton – and his grandchildren for bringing him joy.

“‘Wag kayong maniniwala, buhay na buhay ako,” Eddie said, extending gratitude to longtime fans and those who offered prayers.

Ruffa added in her post, “We celebrate a life filled with love, strength, and grace. Cheers to good health, happiness, and many more beautiful moments ahead. We love you always.”
