MANILA – Senator Imee R. Marcos refuted circulating claims that she played a role in the recent reshuffling within the Senate.

In an official statement, Marcos said she was among the last to know and join any discussions regarding the changes, emphasizing that the entire minority bloc can attest to this.

“I don’t mind debates or misunderstandings, as long as they are for the right reasons,” she added.

Marcos expressed gratitude to Senate President Tito Sotto for reassigning her to the Committee on Foreign Relations, noting that the move came despite her not being part of the majority.

She also clarified her stance as a critic of her brother’s administration, saying she does not expect any favors regarding Senate internal politics.

“The leadership needs to know that the buzz about changing the SP was loud because senators were worried. There was a growing fear that our institution was being shaken by cases and controversies for which the Senate should not be held accountable,” Marcos said.
