MANILA — Drag queen and transwoman Andrei “Sofia” Trazona revealed that she still misses her mother, SexBomb member Izzy Trazona, despite no longer being in touch with her.

Sofia addressed questions from social media users on X about her relationship with her celebrity mother.

“Sa lahat ng nag-message sakin, no. ‘Di na po kami nagkikita ni mama, I also am scared na ‘pag nakita niya na ako ngayon as a transwoman, iba ‘yung reaction na ma-receive ko and ayoko na bumalik sa dark place nung lumabas ‘yung issue,” she said.

“I just want validation and acceptance. Wala ng iba,” she added.

Older Instagram posts show Sofia and her mother dancing together, but her newer posts no longer feature Izzy. Sofia also said she has been missing family reunions on her mother’s side, saying she often becomes the subject of conversation.

“It’s honestly so sad na ‘di na ko nakakapunta sa mga reunion sa mom’s side, even birthdays kase whenever pumupunta ako, lagi lang akong pinag-uusapan and pinagka-kaisahan,” she said.

In September 2023, Sofia admitted she had previously misrepresented her mother’s support for her craft.

“There’s no point in protecting her because the truth came out straight from her… As much as I love you, you know that I don’t wanna live in a lie. I’m sustaining myself for years now and I am living responsibly honest,” she wrote on Facebook in 2013.

“I’m tired of this conversation about me being gay and doing drag. I wanna end this argument by saying that ‘I wanna live my own truth and someday you will be proud of what I will become,’” she added.

“I love you so much mom, but this isn’t healthy for me anymore. I hope someday, you will understand how it feels to be in my shoes. I miss you, but you’re not bringing me any comfort and compassion I deserve,” Sofia concluded.
