
MANILA — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) finished printing more than 250,000 official ballots for the special election in the Second District of Antipolo City scheduled next month.
Comelec Chairperson George Garcia said a total of 252,793 ballots were completed at the National Printing Office (NPO) in Quezon City by 12:43 p.m., with the sheeting process still ongoing.
“Printing of Antipolo ballots done by 12:43 p.m. Sheeting of the ballots is ongoing,” Garcia said.
The printing began at 9 a.m., according to a separate Comelec statement. Aside from the ballots, the NPO also printed accountable forms for the March 14, 2026 special election for the congressional seat of Antipolo’s 2nd District.
The special polls were called to fill the vacancy left by Romeo Acop, who passed away in December 2025.
Six candidates are vying for the seat: Dandin Infante, Reden Llama, Maria Trinidad Cafirma, Philip Conrad Acop, Nathaniel Lobigas, and Irvin Paulo Tapales.
