MANILA — Malacañang assured the public that the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI)continues its investigation into alleged anomalies in infrastructure projects without interruption, even as President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. carefully reviews the submitted report.

During a Palace press briefing, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro said the ICI remains fully functional, emphasizing that no work has been halted while the President studies thousands of pages of documentation to ensure a sound and fair decision.

“They submitted their report, and the President will determine whether to continue or take further action. For now, the ICI continues its work uninterrupted,” Castro said.

She noted that the report spans nearly a thousand pages, requiring careful study before any decision can be made. “It’s not something you just read like a novel and react to immediately. The President needs to examine it thoroughly to make a reasonable and correct decision,” Castro added.

Castro also reminded the public that the ICI has submitted multiple reports to both the Ombudsman and the Department of Justice (DOJ), and the public should await the outcomes of these submissions.

While no definite timeline has been set, Castro indicated that developments or results may be expected by February, pending the completion of the ongoing review.
