MANILA—Fans of Coco Martin will not have to wait long after the finale of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” as the actor will soon star in a new show alongside his real-life partner Julia Montes.

Martin announced last week that “Batang Quiapo” will air its final episode on March 13. He reassured fans that he will return to screens just two days later, with the new show premiering on March 16 across all ABS-CBN entertainment platforms.

“Naghihintay ako ng right project para sa pagsasama namin ni Julia. Si Juls ngayon, pukpukan ang training. Nag-aaral siya ngayon ng sa baril, ng fight, sa motor. Inakma namin ‘yung kwento na talagang fit para sa amin, sa estado namin ngayon. First time namin magla-light. Pasasayahin naman natin ‘yung mga tahanan gabi-gabi,” Coco said in an episode of the nightly newscast “TV Patrol” on February 20.

Titled “Sigabo,” the new Coco-Jul show will differ from the heavy family drama and action of “Batang Quiapo.” It will blend action, comedy, and romance in an episodic format, with the pair taking on new missions and stories each week. Martin said they will work mostly with comedians in the series.
